Do you have kids that love fun-filled war games? Where you design the scenario? The strategy? The enemy and criteria for victory? If yes? Welcome aboard. The NERF Mortar replicates the functions of a real mortar; only that it is a toy. It simulates the process of launching mortar into the air but with spongy-foams as the bullets. The real-life function of a mortar is to deceive and distract the enemy with mortar bullets while you scar their faces with artillery. The same philosophy is used in building this toy. If you need strategy to go alongside firepower in those games, the NERF Mortar is your best shot. It will surely spice it up.
How the NERF Mortar Works
The NERF Mortar may be the harmless replica of an actual mortar but it works like one. The shape of the mortar launcher and the mechanism that propels the mortar bullet is the same. In an actual mortar, the propulsion comes from the Mortar itself rather than the launching tube. Each mortar has a tube that is primed using a tool that comes with the set. When the tool is attached to the mortar, you just need to push the mortar down the tube and it automatically launches as it hits the bottom of the tube.
The NERF Mortar set is described as follows;
- 3 Caliber giant foam bullets (60mm each)
- One tripod mortar launcher that serves as the pressure reed cylinder
- One transmitter
The NERF Mortar set is dark green and the bullets are made from a combination of soft-spongy foam and plastic. Making the bullets soft and harmless if it hits anyone (adds to the fun, right?). It is recommended for kids aged 14 and older.
