The toothpick crossbow is the perfect weapon for office battles against your cubicle mates or for keeping your hands busy in your man cave while your mind runs through several ideas on how to make life more fun.
You have to agree with me that medieval weapons are quite amazing. Swords, polearms, ballistae, maces, trebuchets, lances, the list is endless. Hearing their names and seeing them being put to use in movies or live action role playing generates such excitement, especially if you are a weapons nerd. However, even among these weapons, there was none as deadly or as effective as the crossbow!
A ranged weapon designed to do damage from afar, the crossbow was elevated and feared above almost all other medieval weapons because of its capabilities to inflict mortal wounds without putting the wielder of the weapon in harms way. Remember, this was in a time when most infantry battles and the weapons they were fought with required standing close enough to your opponent to see the white in his eyes.
Today, the crossbow has been supplanted in effectiveness as an infantry weapon by the gun. But that does not make it any less cool to use. Unfortunately, moving around with a crossbow in public these days would generate reactions that range from puzzlement to outright fear and hostility. You might be able to get away with carrying one around if you were a hunter but even then, you couldn’t take it everywhere with you.
So, what’s a weapons nerd to do when faced with these challenges? The obvious answer is to get a toothpick crossbow!
It’s just like a regular crossbow, except smaller. Way smaller. Small enough to fit in your pocket and not draw any attention. Made from stainless steel, this crossbow is sturdy enough to survive repeated firing, and it works just like a regular crossbow would too.
This is the perfect weapon for going to “war” without really meaning to seriously harm anyone. Just give them a few welts to let them know who reigns supreme in cubicle wars.
