This small Pocket Grappling Hook can fit into your pocket and can thus be easily taken out in case of emergence that comes up. This grappling hook was manufactured for bomb technicians. A request was made by a desert warfare operator who explained the need for a lightweight, reusable grappling hook. His request led to the advent of this device built by EOD Robotics. The hook is capable of being used to snag trip wires and also command the detonation of wires on IEDs in cases of combat.
Once this device proved its worthiness in combat, more production was requested by the military. Although originally devised for bomb technicians, the fun doesn’t end as you can pretend like you’re Spiderman.
The hook is made entirely from stainless steel. There is a screw off compartment which can serve as storage for pills, case or other small valuables. You could also hide your small neck chain inside it. There is an o-ring waterproof seal that stores the hook claws when not in use for safety measures, the hook can handle a 550 paracord or smaller.
The hook may look light at first, however, by adding sand, dirt or water into the leak-proof space, you can add to the weight. This helps you attain an effective throw range. The claws each have a diameter of 5.7mm and 36.7mm length. The total height of the grappling hook is 62mm, 2.25mm wall thickness and weighs 45.3g.
