If you are a Rick and Morty fan, you definitely know about this officially licensed Plumbus from the tv show. It is an all purpose home appliance. Everyone has it and since we all have it, we all know what it can do, so there’s no need to explain it or its functions.
The Plumbus is from Rick and Morty, an American animated television series created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland that first aired in December 2013 on Cartoon Network’s [adult swim] programming block.
The show can best be described as a “science-fiction, black comedy series about genius inventory, Rick Sanchez, and his naive grandson, Morty Smith”.
The Plumbus first appears in the eight episode of the second season of the show, titled “Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate”, where our protagonists get access to a cable tv service that allows them to watch tv stations from different galaxies and dimensions.
On one of the interdimensional stations, they come across a show called “How They Do It” which goes into details about manufacturing process for the Plumbus.
According to the show, plumbuses are made by smoothing out the finest Dingle Bop with re-purposed Scleem…
…the shleem is then repurposed for later batches. The dinglebop is pushed through the grumbo, where the fleeb is then rubbed against it. It’s important that the fleeb is rubbed, because the fleeb has all the fleeb juice. Then a shlammie shows up and he rubs it and spits on it. They cut the fleeb. There are several hizzards in the way. The blamfs run against the trumbles and the ploobis and grumbo are shaved away. That leaves you with a regular old plumbus.
If that makes absolutely no sense to you, then this officially licensed Plumbus is certainly not for you.
However, if you did find the above amusing, then you should also know that while there are several other replicas, like this 3D printed one, this is the first and only Official Rick & Morty licensed Plumbus available out there. It also includes a display stand to rest your Plumbus when not in use. Perfect for all the geeks and nerds out there who are avid followers of the shenanigans that Rick and Morty get up to.
