Get your cosplay game on with one of the most iconic helmet designs in pop culture history! Halloween will never be the same with the DIY Daft Punk Helmet.
You know Daft Punk right? The electronic dance music group made up of two guys from France who gained popularity in the late 1990s with their unique blend of house music, disco, rock and synthpop. By the mid 2010s their music had topped charts around the world, and they had collaborated with several other artistes and won a ton of awards in the process.
Apart from the amazing music they put out on a regular basis, the duo is also known for hiding their identities with the use of helmets. Though the style and designs of these masks have varied over the years, one thing that has pretty much stayed consistent is the shape of the helmets. The helmets were produced by Paul Hahn of Daft Arts and the French directors Alex and Martin, and since the designs were unveiled in 2001, they have remained the only means for Daft Punk fans to identify and distinguish one member of the group from the other.
The DIY Daft Punk helmet allow you to mimic the designs of these unique pieces of stage equipment without going overboard with the costs. You can choose either of the two designs to go with or even buy both for you and a friend to use.
One thing to note though is that the helmets do not come assembled. When you place your order, what you receive is a foldable paper magazine which you will then cut and craft using the included instructions to end up with the final form of the helmet.
Once you’re done crafting, you can use putty to harden the helmet and spray paint it to whatever color you want. After all, this is a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) helmet, so you might as well personalize it to your hearts content. Just do not forget to cut out eye holes on the helmet so you can see through it while wearing it. The helmets come in one size only but it should be able to fit over almost anyone’s head.
